Vegas lists Eagles as the favorites

The Giants might be the defending Super Bowl champions and have a 7-1 record. But Vegas still likes the Eagles on Sunday night at Lincoln Financial Field. The Birds are a three-point favorite for the NFC East matchup in most sports books.

It's generally assumed that a team gets three points just for playing at home. Add another point for playing at home in a nationally televised night game. So the Eagles are getting four points in their favor Sunday night.

Still, the 5-3 Eagles, who have beaten the stalwart 49ers, Falcons and Seahawks in their last three games, are only one point worse than the best team in the NFC? That is saying that Vegas would consider the Giants just one-point favorites if the teams played at a neutral site.

Hard to believe. The Giants, who have lost only one game this year, on the road in a nationally televised contest in Cleveland, aren't receiving the respect they deserve. What do they have to do? Win the Super Bowl or something?
